Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Couchy app ("the App"), developed and maintained by Erşah Atmaca. Your privacy is our top priority—especially given the sensitive nature of therapy-related content.

1. Data Storage

All your data is stored locally on your device. This includes:

• Therapy session notes and reflections
• Audio recordings and transcriptions
• Mood tracking and check-ins
• Homework items and therapist information
• Chat conversations with the AI companion

We do not have access to your data. We cannot see, read, or retrieve your therapy notes.

2. Audio Processing

All audio recording, transcription, and speaker identification (diarization) happens entirely on your device. The AI models are downloaded to your device and run locally. Your voice recordings never leave your phone.

3. AI Features (Optional)

The App offers optional AI-powered features including:

• AI Chat companion for exploring therapy insights
• Question generation for session reflection
• Pattern and theme analysis

These features require your explicit consent. When enabled, the text content you choose to analyze is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. This includes session notes and chat messages—but never your audio recordings.

If you do not consent or disable AI features in Settings, no data is ever sent externally.

4. What We Don't Collect

• No analytics or usage tracking
• No crash reporting
• No advertising identifiers
• No location data
• No contact information
• No account registration required

5. Third-Party Services

The only external services used are:

• OpenAI API (opt-in only): For AI chat and analysis features
• RevenueCat: For processing subscriptions (anonymized purchase data only)
• Apple: For App Store transactions

6. Data Security

Your data is protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID). The App also offers an optional app lock feature for additional privacy.

7. Data Deletion

You have full control over your data:

• Delete individual sessions, recordings, or chats anytime
• Use "Delete All Data" in Settings to permanently erase everything
• Uninstalling the App removes all local data

8. Children's Privacy

This App is intended for users 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 17. The App deals with mature themes related to mental health and therapy.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
